Fault Log

2023 Jan - Mar

As part of our campaign to demonstrate how the use of older buses on the 95 route results in a less reliable service, we are taking note of all the times when there are reports of faulty buses on the 95 or the associated services...

We recorded 9 faults causing delays to the 95 service between January and March 2023.

Not every faulty bus is reported on Twitter.

This is an example from one of our Facebook followers.

Our witness boarded SF10 CAO at Anstruther Harbour on 13th March 2023 - the bus was running as the 09:40 departure from Leven, due to depart the Anstruther stop at 10:31 - there was a problem with the bus, the driver restarted the engine and the bus struggled along to the Scottish Fisheries Museum where it came to a halt.

The driver advised passengers to find another way to complete their journey - most crossed the road for the next X60 to St Andrews.

Our witness went into the Fisheries Museum cafe for a cup of tea and a cheese scone to wait for the next 95 to Crail an hour later.

Meanwhile SF10 CAO did manage to get restarted and limped its way to the service depot at St Andrews Bus Station 15 minutes late. The bus was replaced by a different vehicle which was therefore able to depart St Andrews Bus Station on time.

If you come across a faulty 95 bus please let us know so we can add it to our list - contact us by the usual methods.
