Day Trips on the Moffat & Williamson 64
The Moffat & Williamson 64 follows a meandering route between St Andrews and Glenrothes which passes many tourist locations:
Some of the points of interest on the route:
Craigtoun Country Park - the 64 stops at the end of a driveway leading up to the Dukes Golf Course and Craigtoun Country Park on the outskirts of St Andrews
Magus Muir - a woodland walk and a memorial to Archbishop James Sharpe who was murdered here in 1679 during the religious wars (James Sharpe was minister of Crail Parish Church between 1648 and 1661).
Strathkinness - see the Community Garden & Orchard - or walk to Blebo Craigs for the bus back...
Ceres - for the Fife Folk Museum and various cafes
Cupar - the 65 from St Andrews may beat the 64 to Cupar but the 64 has the advantage of stopping outside Tesco's in Fife's traditional market town
Fife Zoo (north of Giffordtown) - approximately every 2 hours from 24th March 2025
Pillars of Hercules Organic Farm & Cafe starting point for many walking and cycling routes
Falkland for the National Trust for Scotland Falkland Palace - cafes and walks

Following timetable changes on Monday 24th March 2025 connections from the 95to the 64 do not work well. The best place to change may well now be in the centre of St Andrews. The 64 official terminus has moved to outside the Students Union - if walking is difficult you could even get off the 95 there after it has departed the Bus Station on its journey back to Crail at 26 minutes past the hour, pop into the Rector's Cafe for a tea or coffee while you wait and then venture outside for the 64 which typically departs at 5 past the hour. Otherwise you could spend half-an-hour or so wandering the shops of St Andrews.
If you don't have a Bus Pass then you will probably want to buy a day ticket that covers travel on both Stagecoach and Moffat & Williamson buses.
You probably want to buy an ABC Tickets East Fife Zone day ticket at £11.20.
These tickets are loaded onto a Smartcard - and if you don't already have a suitable Smartcard it will cost you £1 to buy one on the bus.
Connections on the return journey are much easier - with the 64 arriving in the centre of St Andrews about 5 past the hour - with a shorter wait for the 95.
Beware potential connection problems if your 64 is the one due in St Andrews at 16:35 or 17:35 - you may well just miss the 95.
From 18:50 the 95 changes its route and travels outbound from St Andrews via Lamond Drive - connections from the 64 are still not so well timed.

We hope you enjoy your day out.
