Day Trips from Crail by Stagecoach bus

Here are some suggestions for possible day trips from Crail:

Edinburgh - so popular that we have written some special "crib sheets" on catching the bus to Edinburgh - changing buses outside Aldi in St Andrews or catching a Glasgow express from St Andrews and changing at Halbeath Park & Ride - to speed up your journey and give you more time in Edinburgh, The last bus back from Edinburgh is at 21:30 Monday to Saturday and that should get you on the last bus through Crail arriving at 01:00.

Glasgow - timings on this bus make for simpler connections in St Andrews. Again we have produced some "crib sheets" with suggested connections as sometimes you can save time on the Glasgow to Crail journey by changing buses at unusual places like Dairsie to take advantage of the timing of the 65 Perth to St Andrews bus. The last weekday bus back from Glasgow is an X27 at 20:15 changing in Leven to the 95 that wanders around the East Neuk and gets to Crail at 01:00.

Dunfermline - is on the route to Glasgow - you can use the guidance from our Glasgow "crib sheets". The last bus back from Dunfermline is an X27 at 21:25...

Stirling - is easiest to get to using the Stagecoach Express X22 from Dunfermline. 95 buses towards St Andrews approximately hourly from around 06:46 give easy changes to the X24 to Dunfermline and onto the X22. For example, the 06:46 from Pinkerton Road in Crail gets to St Andrews at 07:17 for the 07:40 X24 getting to Dunfermline at 09:14 for the 09:30 X22 getting to Stirling at 10:24. The last bus back from Stirling at 18:30 gets to Dunfermline at 19:24 where an X27 at 19:30 will get you to Leven for 20:58 connecting with the 21:20 95 getting to Crail High Street at 22:19.
