Finding your latest bus news on Twitter (also known as "X")

To post on Twitter or to read Twitter directly you need an account...

So, if you want to follow the latest bus news from Stagecoach, no matter how much you dislike Mr Musk and what he's done to Twitter you will still need to create an account.

You can use a Google or Apple account as your starting point to register with Twitter and you can just follow the feeds you are interested in. But you need to keep clicking on "Following" to make sure you mostly see just what you are interested in. If you can view Twitter on a computer through an ad-blocking browser then that will help to keep your experience clean and tidy...

For some thoughts about Twitter accounts, see our blog post: https://95crailbus.substack.com/p/do-you-need-a-twitter-account

Beware spelling mistakes in Tweets on Twitter! A common problem at one time was that when someone meant to type "the bus is NOT running" that auto-predict or spell-checking got in the way and what got Tweeted was "the bus is NOW running" - which has the opposite meaning. So, if a bus gets Tweeted about, expect it to mean that there are problems...

Stagecoach East Scotland put a lot of news on Twitter about bus cancellations due to staff shortages and the like.

There can be so many Twitter posts from Stagecoach that it can be difficult sorting out which post applies to your journey.

So it can be useful to use the search facility on Twitter to find the latest posts for just your route - here are some examples:

All Stagecoach East Scotland posts: https://twitter.com/StagecoachEScot

Posts mentioning the 95 route: https://twitter.com/search?f=live&q=95%20(from%3Astagecoachescot)&src=typed_query

For travel further afield:

The X24 or X59: https://twitter.com/search?q=(X24%20OR%20X59)%20(from%3Astagecoachescot)&src=typed_query&f=live

The X58 or X60: https://twitter.com/search?q=(X58%20OR%20X60)%20(from%3Astagecoachescot)&src=typed_query&f=live

The 99: https://twitter.com/search?q=(99)%20(from%3Astagecoachescot)&src=typed_query&f=live

While Stagecoach use Twitter as their main way of informing people about cancellations, other operators often use their websites to give such information. So if you are travelling with a different operator you will need to find out how they inform passengers about any problems.

Other useful Twitter feeds:

The Tay bridge: https://twitter.com/tay_road_bridge - also see: https://www.tayroadbridge.co.uk/

The Forth Bridges: https://twitter.com/TheForthBridges - remember buses still tend to use the Forth Road Bridge rather than the Queensferry Crossing - there's a status line covering both bridges at the top of the page: https://www.theforthbridges.org/

And, of course, we have a Twitter account where we repost things we think might interest you about Crail or buses in general, and where you can get in touch with us: https://twitter.com/95crail

95 Crail Bus is a "fan site" and has no connections with any bus operator or other commercial organisation.
